Position Overview:
Complete a variety of wiring and assembly operations to support Benshaw Inc., a 508 UL Panel Shop manufacturing Low and Medium Voltage drives, soft starters, and other control equipment. Under general supervision the use of electronic parts, ohm meters, hand tools and electric tools is required to wire and/or mount parts, fabricate enclosures, assemble stacks, and install power wire and or wire harnesses for various standard products from electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and/or shop instructions while following company workmanship standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Degree or equivalent
- 2-3 years’ demonstrated wiring experience.
- Possess an in depth understanding of wire color codes, wire size, schematics, creep and strike distances, measuring, torque tolerance and hardware assembly.
- Experience and demonstrated ability to use all tools needed to complete assembly and wiring requirements, including screw drivers, hand tools, sockets, wire crimpers and impact drivers.
- Ability to work independently to complete milestones.
- Demonstrated ability to meet quality and productivity standards within team.
- Good time-management skills and ability to set priorities.

Desired Qualifications

Low Voltage Design Engineer
We are currently seeking a Low Voltage Design Engineer in our Pittsburgh, PA location.
Position Overview:
- Leads more complex projects, analyzes and designs new products and systems, and improves existing products to hit project milestones.
- Directs 3rd party engineering support to complete project actions.
- Completes costing analysis throughout the project lifecycle to meet or exceed key costing metrics.
- Designs and/or improves products considering manufacturability, quality and cost with a thorough understanding of design tools and methods. Reviews and approves work done by associate, design engineers, and 3rd party engineering support.
- Optimizes products considering manufacturability, quality and cost with a thorough understanding of analysis methods. Reviews and approves analysis done by associate and design engineers.
- Solves problems with a thorough understanding of tradeoffs in problem solving to drive optimized designs.
- Leads development of product specifications. Translates specifications to manufacturing requirements.
- Creates test plans and develops new test protocol for products or components, with a solid understanding of reliability and fail.
- Verifies that designs meet specification through product testing, and develops the product qualification testing.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent educational experience
- 5-7 years’ experience within application, design, or sustaining engineering or technical sales function
- Ability to design and configure complex systems with limited guidance
- Ability to travel 10% – 20% of time, depending on customer needs
- Familiarity with power electronics equipment including soft starters, VFDs, and MCPs.

Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the functional and empirical analysis and design of software systems for Benshaw products.
- Provide full documentation of software designs, develop firmware for microcontroller-based products, PC based utility software, development software, and diagnostic software.
- Work closely with hardware engineers and other software engineers to design, develop, and debug many functional aspects of motor control and motor monitoring software.

Senior Electrical Engineer
We are currently seeking a SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER in our Pittsburgh, PA location.
Benshaw is a worldwide leader in industrial motor controls. The primary purpose of this position is the development of industrial motor controllers and protection devices used to control motors from 1 horsepower up to 22,500 horsepower. This development can take the form of pc-board designs, power electronics designs, conformance testing (UL and IEC), as well as support of the manufacturing of these products. This position is in the Benshaw Research and Development department where Benshaw’s new products are created.
Position Overview:
- Design, develop, and maintain pc-board based hardware designs used in all of Benshaw’s products.
- Work with other electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, software engineers, and lab technicians at Benshaw throughout the development process to evaluate new hardware designs, functions and performance goals to support the creation and release of new products.
- Work with engineers in the debugging of new and revised hardware and power electronics. Perform testing of thermal, vibration, humidity, ESD, and EMC testing to verify and improve designs.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary and international teams to develop product specifications, define functionality, interfaces, and assist with project planning.
- With the Benshaw team, lead and perform testing and complete approval programs for third party (UL, CSA, IEC, and ETL) compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related degrees
- Experience with Altium Designer or other similar EDA programs
- Experience with SCR and/or IGBT based power electronics designs
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language
- Experience with ERP systems
- Experience with engineering debug and analysis using tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Shipping Clerk for first shift positions in our Shipping/Receiving departments. The position is a mix of administrative duties and labor – the ideal candidate would be comfortable with helping hands-on with shipping, as well as strong in computer skills on the administrative side.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately picks large quantity of parts for production shop orders
- Performs cycle counts when necessary to provide accurate inventory totals
- Operates forklift to pull large palletized boxes from high locations
