Outside Service Technician
Benshaw Canada Controls Inc. provides the industry’s most advanced electronic motor control and protection products and associated services. We are currently looking for two full-time Outside Service Technicians to join our team. This position is based out of Listowel, Ontario.
The Outside Service Technician provides startup assistance as well as troubleshooting support to customers nationwide. This position requires frequent travel as well as exceptional customer service skills.
As an Outside Service Technician, you will:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical motor control systems such as Variable Frequency Drives and Solid State Starters with voltages ranging from 120 to 13.8kV
- Perform diagnostic testing and repairs on-site at customer locations and in-house
- Provide in-house support to customers via e-mail and telephone
- Provide off-hours on-call service on a rotating basis
- Accurately enter necessary data into IFS system
- Document service and repair activities, including thorough service reports with details on findings and actions taken
- Provide input into technical manual updates
- Other duties as assigned
What you bring to the role:
- Completion of an Electrician program, an Electrical/Electronic Technician or Technologist Certificate, or equivalent
- Three years’ experience in electrical field
- Experience with motor controls, down to board level is considered an asset
- Thorough troubleshooting skills specifically related to electrical/electronic equipment
- Excellent ability to communicate with customers by understanding their technical knowledge and abilities
- Ability to travel regularly both within and outside of Canada; at times heavy travel is required
