DC Injection Braking Solutions

Solid State Starter with DC Injection Braking

DC Injection Braking is available with Benshaw’s standard reduced voltage soft starters, or as a stand alone braking unit.

Benshaw MX2/MX3 starters with DC injection braking consist of a three phase solid state starter with an integrated SCR power block, power fuse and control logic for the DC Injection circuit. The Brake Stop mode allows a static DC field to be injected into the stator of the motor, which makes the rotor stop in a fashion similar to the way the three phase rotating magnetic field brings the motor up to operating speed.

Benshaw solid state starters with DC injection braking are available in standard duty or heavy duty configurations.

SMB Series Smart Motor Brake

The SMB series of DC Injection Brakes is a stand-alone braking solution designed for full-voltage applications. Built on the proven MX3 control platform, each unit comes complete with integrated motor protection and is CSA Special Inspected.

MXDCB Series DC Injection Brake

The MXDCB series of DC injection brake can be added to both the MX2 and MX3 series of Benshaw Soft Starters. Along with the Soft Starter, the MXDCB can be integrated into a custom control package. The MXDCB is CSA Special Inspected
