Product Specialist/Sales Engineer – MV VFD
Benshaw Canada Controls Inc., located in Listowel, Ontario, has a full-time opportunity for a self-motivated, highly organized individual to join our team as a Product Specialist – MV VFD (Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drive). The Product Specialist is part of a global team with a primary focus in Canada and South America, reporting to the National Sales Manager. In this position, you are the primary point of contact, as well as the subject matter expert for the MVH2 product line.
As our Product Specialist, you will:
- Develop and maintain the product portfolio, specification and manage all aspects of the product line.
- Support the development and implementation of a MV VFD sales strategy plan for the Canadian and South American markets.
- Work closely with Territory Sales Managers to assess and recommend the appropriate solutions to satisfy the customer needs.
- Create a product line and service training program for internal and external channel partners.
- Design a preventative maintenance program for our channel partners and end users.
- Attend site visits and engage engineering groups to drive the product specifications.
- Attend and participate in start-up assistance of new installations and retrofits with the Benshaw service group.
- Be able to travel 50% or more within Canada, USA, and South America.
You will have:
- Post-secondary Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent educational/professional experience with a minimum of 8 years’ experience working directly with MV VFDs (application, design, or technical sales).
- 5 years’ experience working with MV VFD power topologies such as multilevel Cascaded H Bridge topology.
- Familiarity with power electronics equipment including switchgear, soft starters, and motor control products.
- Minimum 10 years of experience working in the motor control industry.
- Strong technical skills related to electrical engineering and power electronics.
- Experience interpreting and modifying electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Valid driver’s license and passport for travel within Canada, US, and South America.
- Exceptional customer service skills, enhanced by excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
The following qualifications would be considered an asset but are not required:
- Fluent in English, French and Spanish – oral and written.
- Experience with design software SolidWorks, AutoCAD, 3D Inventor.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario or an equivalent governing body in Canada or US.
- 5 years of sales experience in the motor control industry.
- Experience in a leadership or project management position.
- General understanding of Arc Flash Protection.
- Experience and/or understanding of Benshaw products, or similar products, applications, and the electrical motor control industry.

- Create drawing acknowledgment to be sent with customer approval/information drawings or mechanical drawings for external manufacturers
- Utilize job/service database to create efficiencies within the drawing production process
What you will bring to the position:
- • Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics Technology Certificate from Community College or equivalent experience
- • Previous experience with Low and Medium Voltage electrical design considered an asset
- • Knowledge of Low and Medium Voltage distribution equipment such as transformers and switchgear considered an asset
- • Strong computer skills working with Excel would be beneficial
- • Ability to understand complex electrical concepts considered an asset
- • CNC and milling knowledge would also be considered an asset but not essential

Inside Sales Administrator

In this position, you will provide sales administration support to our Inside Sales team. This role requires exceptional communication and organizational skills related to order and data management. You will be part of a global team with a primary focus in Canada and South America and will report to the National Sales Manager.
As our Inside Sales Administrator, you will:
- Work directly with the Inside Sales team to track costing fluctuations;
- Process day to day quote activity including order entry;
- Provide sales administration support including updating templates, options and parts worksheets;
- Maintain and populate various accounting and customer databases;
- Provide preliminary responses to customer and distributer inquiries;
- Generate Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs);
- Update Webstore as required;
- Other duties as assigned.
You will have:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an administrative support role;
- Exceptional customer service skills enhanced by excellent written and verbal communication;
- High attention to detail with demonstrated organization and time management skills;
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Database Management.
The following qualifications would be considered an asset but are not required:
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain Management and/or equivalent experience in a related role;
- Order entry experience;
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software experience, specifically IFS;
